Before we know it, warm weather will be here, and theme parks will open for
another exciting season of fun in the sun! All affiliated credit unions are
invited to participate in Servicecorp’s 2008 program. Discount tickets are
available for Kings Island, Cedar Point, The Beach Waterpark, Holiday World & Splashin' Safari, Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom,
and Indiana Beach.
Ticket orders, payment remittance information, and ticket return information
will be handled online again this season. This not only cuts down on the amount
of paper your credit union handles, it also provides you with up-to-date access
to your ticket orders, sales, and returns history.
Your username and password will be the same as last year, and is also the
same as your League website username and password. If you do not know what your username and
password are, please contact Robin Litel at robinl@servicecorp.com
or (800) 285-5300, ext. 5306 or (317) 594-5306. She will provide you with a
username and password. Welcome to the theme park program! We look forward to
working with you this season!

Family fun will be "out of this world" at Cedar Point amusement park/resort
when Planet Snoopy™ debuts this summer as the park’s newest children’s area.
Featuring a PEANUTS™-themed environment, Planet Snoopy will spin into orbit
at the former PEANUTS Playground. It will feature seven rides, including a
mini-tea-cup-style ride, miniature train, 4 x 4 trucks, a bouncing tower,
spinning balloons, rocket ships and a crazy sub ride. It will also feature
games, themed décor showcasing Snoopy’s worldly travels, and special live
appearances by the PEANUTS characters. Planet Snoopy’s 1.25 acres will also
feature a family center with changing stations and private areas to feed
children in a quiet atmosphere. And the terrestrial fun extends beyond
Planet Snoopy with four new live shows: "Snoopy’s Big Bow Wow On Ice" will
skate into the Good Time Theatre; next to Planet Snoopy, "All Wheels
Extreme" is set to wow guests young and old in the former aquatic stadium,
where skilled stunt bikers, skateboarders and rollerbladers will perform
flips, tricks and unbelievable stunts in this high-energy BMX-style show; in
the Centennial Theatre, "Signed, Sealed, Delivered" will feature live
singers and dancers in a spectacular stage show celebrating music of the
‘50s and ‘60s; while the Red Garter Saloon will showcase an all-new musical
revue. And, just when you thought that they couldn’t possibly add any more
thrills and wild rides to the shores of Lake Erie, Cedar Point has announced
that Skyscraper, a towering thrill ride, will debut this summer in the
Challenge Park activity complex. Skyscraper will be unlike any ride you have
ever experienced on the Cedar Point Peninsula. Featuring a giant propeller
consisting of two arms that will spin guests in a full circle, Skyscraper is
one of the most thrilling rides in the amusement industry. Four riders, two
on each arm, will sit in open cars with their feet dangling, on opposite
ends of the propeller. The arms of the propeller quickly rotate in a
clockwise or counterclockwise direction, spinning riders 16 stories into the
air at speeds of up to 55 mph. At its highest point, riders will be upside
down 160 feet above the ground! Skyscraper will have an individual ride
fee, and admission to Cedar Point will not be required. Located between
Cedar Point and Soak City, Challenge Park also features the RipCord
Skycoaster, two high-speed go-kart tracks and two challenging 18-hole
miniature golf courses. Challenge Park is open to the public, and admission
to Cedar Point or Soak City is not required. Each attraction requires a
separate fee. Special combo packages that include discounted tickets for the
attractions at Challenge Park will be available this summer at the park. In addition to
the new attractions, a two-year refurbishment at the Sandcastle Suites Hotel
will be completed by this summer. The $3 million in renovations include an
improved lobby and registration area, upgraded suites and restrooms and
newly decorated hallways. Last summer, the exterior of Sandcastle Suites was
upgraded. Including Planet Snoopy, the park will spend approximately $5.2
million in capital improvements for the 2008 season. Parking is $10.
Location - Cedar Point is just 125
miles from Fort Wayne, located in Sandusky, Ohio, midway between Cleveland
and Toledo. Take Ohio Routes 6 or 2, U.S. Route 250 or the Ohio Turnpike to
Exit 7 to Sandusky. In Sandusky, follow the Cedar Point Causeway signs.
Operating Days - Cedar Point will be
open daily Saturday, May 10 through Monday, September 1. The park also will
be open September 5, 6, 7, 12, 13, 14, 19, 20, 21, 26, 27 and 28; and
October 3, 4, 5, 10, 11, 12, 17, 18, 19, 24, 25, 26 and 31; and November 1
and 2. Operating dates and hours are subject to change, so you should verify
with the park that they are open on the date(s) you plan to visit. For
members visiting Cedar Point after 5 p.m. on days when the park closes at 10
p.m. or later, or after 4 p.m. on days the park closes earlier than 10 p.m.,
the "Starlight" admission price is $25.95 and is only available at
the park. Soak City is open daily Saturday,
May 24 through Monday, September 1. |

For 23 seasons, The Beach Waterpark has continued to be one of the premier
travel destinations in the Midwest. With 51 rides and attractions, including
Aztec Adventure, the Midwest’s only water coaster, The Beach is an
experience you won’t find anywhere else. Real palm trees, real white sand,
real reggae bands, and real ocean waves are just a few of the amazing
features that made The Beach the #1 Waterpark in America in 2004, by
Aquatics International, and the Best Place To Get Wet, by City Beach
Magazine year after year. As a tropical-themed adventure for the whole
family, The Beach is situated on 35 acres of rolling wooded terrain that
provides lots of shade and lush ambiance. Some of The Beach’s other rides
and attractions include Volcanic Panic, Kahuna Beach, The Pearl, The Cliff,
Typhoon Twist, Banzai, The Lazy Miami River, Jolly Mon’ Shores, Splash
Mountain and Emerald Bay, which includes Lilly Pads, Log Roll, Rings and

Come monkey around all season long at the new Kima Bay in Splashin’ Safari!
"Kima" is the Swahili word for monkey. Kima Bay, plus a new Pepsi Oasis
station and restroom building, will add two acres to Splashin' Safari,
increasing the size of the water park to approximately 25 acres. There are
no height or weight limits for Kima Bay; however, children under the age of
six must be accompanied by an adult. With seven water slides and more than
100 water-play elements to slide, spray, climb, and laugh yourself silly,
Kima Bay will be more fun than a barrel of—you guessed it—monkeys! And in
Holiday World? The Star Spangled Carousel will debut in the park’s 4th
of July section! With beautiful horses and other lovely creatures to ride,
Star Spangled Carousel will put a smile on your little patriot’s face. And
in the park’s Christmas section, Rudolph’s Reindeer Ranch gets a fun new
ride for the little ones. Reindeer Games will give children of all
ages the chance to fly up and bounce back down. Just like Santa’s reindeers
do. Holiday World also offers live shows, and Santa Claus himself is on hand
every day to greet kids of all ages! And, not only are soft drinks always
free, but 30 SPF sunscreen (PABA free) is also provided free of charge in
Splashin’ Safari! With more than 100 acres of excitement, Holiday World—the
world’s first theme park—is the perfect family destination. Parking is free.
Location - Seven miles south of I-64,
Exit 63 or Exit 57.
Operating Days - Holiday World &
Splashin’ Safari are on Central Daylight Time, which is the same time as
Evansville, and is an hour behind Indianapolis and Terre Haute. Only Holiday
World will be open Saturday, May 3 and Sunday, May 4, but will close at 5:30
p.m. Both Holiday World and Splashin’ Safari will be open daily Saturday,
May 10 through Sunday, August 17, but will have varying closing times
throughout the season, so you will want to verify when the park closes on
the date(s) you plan to visit. Both parks also will be open August 23,
24, 30 and 31; and September 1 and 13. Only Holiday World will be open
September 20, 21, 27 and 28; and October 4, 5, 11 and 12 (please call
ahead for operating schedule). The park will be closed for private outings
May 9 and September 6, 7 and 14. |

Making a huge splash at Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom, Mega Wedgie, an
entertaining waterslide with a whimsical name, will offer park-goers a
unique thrill only to be experienced at Splashwater Kingdom. The
exhilarating water ride will feature bright, alternating teal green and
purple colors with a giant round bowl that's 30 feet in diameter!
Guests will climb to the two-story platform where they will board single or
double rafts and begin their descent down a steep, 100-foot-long, dark
tunnel. As rafts accelerate through the tunnel, riders will be whisked
into the bowl where they'll spin around the sides until they are funneled
into a corkscrew center. From there, rafts zip down a chute into a splash
pool located below. Mega Wedgie joins thrilling new recent additions like
Big Surf Wave Pool and Castaway Creek, plus Buccaneer Beach; a splashy,
interactive waterplay area for young children. Buccaneer Beach is the
ultimate place for little ones as they experience a giant tipping coconut
filled with water, an elephant and flamingo slide, gator, crab and shark
squirts, plus palm trees that spray cool water on a hot summer day. Mega
Wedgie will be located across from Hook's Lagoon and near the award-winning
water coaster, Deluge, which made its debut last season. Deluge
offers the world’s only 4-person rafting experience. Its rocket propelled
water and HydroMagnetic system blasts riders through a serpentine series of
high-bank turns, enclosed tunnels, and uphill climbs at racing speeds.
Deluge is 890 feet long, 57 feet
tall, and travels 18 feet per second. Other additions last season included
20-foot FUN-brellas shading park guests, and personal VIP plush cabanas
equipped with misting fans and personal servers. Splashwater Kingdom is free
with park admission. Parking is $5.
Location – Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom is located at the
intersection of I-65 and I-264 in Louisville on the Kentucky Fair &
Exposition Center grounds.
Operating Days – Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom will be open weekends
May 10 through May 18. Both Six Flags Kentucky Kingdom and Splashwater
Kingdom will be open daily beginning Saturday, May 24 through Sunday, August
10. Both parks will be closed August 11, 12, and 13. Only Six Flags
Kentucky Kingdom will be open August 14–24 during the Kentucky State Fair
(additional details will be sent prior to the state fair). Both parks also
will be open August 30 and 31; and September 1. Only Six Flags Kentucky
Kingdom will be open October 4, 5, 12, 18, 19, 25, 26 and 31; and November 1
and 2. |
